The Ostrich
There are 2 living species of Ostrich, the Common Ostrich and the Somali Ostrich. They are large flightless birds of Africa who lay the largest eggs of any living land animal. With the ability to run 43.5 mph, they are the fastest birds on land. The meat of an Ostrich is a healthy red meat and the flavor and texture is like beef. An Ostrich egg weighs approximately 3 pounds and will provide up to 24 servings. Every part of the Ostrich can be used for food to clothing. The egg and feathers are used for art and decorating.
