GEMSBOK
The Gemsbok is native to southern Africa. Males and females have long straight or slightly curved black horns that flair out at the tips. The horns have rings to the tips. Female gemsbok horns are slightly slenderer but can grow longer than males. Gemsbok are part of the antelope classification.
The body of the gemsbok is a pale gray color with white belly. They have a black dorsal stripe and black and white face masking. The hair is course and they have a long horse like tail.
Approximate live weight ranging from 400 pounds to 550 pounds for bucks and females weigh slightly less. Shoulder height of the gemsbok make is approximately 45 – 50 inches.
